of stepping down.
i stepped down yesterday, took off my badge, blended in with the others.
was on youtube just, re-watching the stepping down vid, and the other vids that were made during the council term, and once again, tears came into my eyes.

to think that when i first joined council, my only motivation was to be involved in Orientation, other than that, i wanted to be one who did not hold much responsibility. i vividly remeber whining to Perd about how the late nights were killing me (heh. sorry Perd!).
but, it seemed that i wasnt destined to sit and slack, instead, responsibilities were placed upon me, grad night, FUNctions stuff, and the likes.
and looking back, it's my involvement in stuff like that that has made my term incredibly fulfiling.

not only on my part where i got to form bonds and ensure that events turn out successful, i managed to grow.
and that's one of the things im really grateful for! :)
talk to me a year back, i think i sound super duper different!
looking back, we too are able to impact the lives of the others, through our actions (read Perd's blog for the link thing.) and other stuff like, make the new J1s feel at home! RIGHT GEN? :)
Viewing the vids again, all the smiles on the J1's faces, and the amount of fun we've had, yeahh. im sorry to part with that.

So, stepping down- a myriad of emotions were present, gratefulness (for the opportunity to serve), nostalgia (for all the memories) and heartache (for removing the badge! and ending term.)

Many of us teared during Amanda's super moving speech,

From here on,we will not be wearing our badges
from here on,we can stop being part-time frens, but concentrate on being full-time buddies
from here on,we promise our teachers that we will put our best foot forward for prelims and As
from here on,our parents will be seeing more of us
from here on,we'll be passing the baton on to the 31st

but the kicker came when we recited our Council pledge and removed our badges.
WOOHOOO.
tears, they just streamed down, and during the College Hymn, you could just hear sniffs, and craked voices. (thank god for the guys who sustained the song through, the girls were just dyiing on stage. heh.)

but i guess the sadest moment was when we were "Presenting the 30th Student Council for the very last time", our sincere bow, held there for longest period of time, and "Seasons of Love" playing while the curtains slowly drew to a close.

emotions running high, many couldnt hold back their tears, but well.
our council term has finally drawn to a close, i love the 30th. :)

to the functions comm, WOOHOOO. thank you for being a amazinggggg, smashing, hyper-active, kuku comm! every single one of us managed to come up with extraordinarily creative ideas that ensured the success of Teacher's Day, Friendship Week and the many other events that we have helped organize. thank you for never giving up despite facing obstacles such as the movie screening, thank you for making council so enjoyable! :)

to the grad night comm, thank you for allowing me the chance to help organize the programmes, thank you for being so cool and composed during the event despite the couple of hiccups. thank you for being so proactive, travelling here and there, looking for charms, creating amazingly creative videos and just being there for each other despite the many late nights and stressful moments.

to my fellow 07A06 councillors, WOOOHOOO. we're THE class with the most number of councillors, and im reaaaalyy happy that we're all active in council. the decision to run for council was a great one i say, thank you for being there, supporting each other throughout this entire journey. :) :)

on another note,
thank God that i did reasonably well for my Econs.
like, i managed a B for my essays! (ohmyyyyyygoshhhhh.)
reallyreally gotta thank God for it cause i wasnt the most prepared on Earth, and i was stressing out seriously badly.
thank God for sustaining me throughout everything! :)
