oh lovely!
heh. isnt he cute?
Theodore Pittas (Greek Chinese), no idea why Simon keeps calling him Mario though. heh.
Mario's the dad's name. :)

anyway! twentysixth.
hmm, a day of mixed emotions i guess.

from the uber uplifting prayer session that we had in the morning (i resolve to join them in prayer during Saturdays which i have worship practice), to the rippling excitement while prepping for the event to the sudden stress attack when i couldnt find the wedding arch, to a flurry of anxiousness when i thought that we couldnt achieve what we wanted to deco-wise, to my disappointment during the event cause my expectations werent met, to the sudden outpouring of relief and peace i felt when i committed myself to God, to the fatigue i felt after the event, to the WOOHOOOO! when the night came to a close.

the twenty sixth just rocked my funky socks. :)
i lovelovelovelovelovelovelovelove the team i worked with, deco comm especially! :D

Prep was really crazy, and really fun.
we had like, fifteen? of us crazy in Shalom hall.
from the guys moving pieces of the stage to the side, to meticulous Estella who helped wipe the dusty chairs, to Simon sealing the windows with trash bags like someone was gonna chemical attack us, to the hanging of the pretty butterflies amidst the vampire music, to the crazy stringing of lanterns and oh, who could forget Jerome who busted one of the spotlights when he poured water on the hot lamp?

heh.

it was like preparing for a wedding or something. everyone just chipping in to help. on the deco part, many last min changes had to be made, but for each last min changes, i firmly believe that it wasnt for nothing. i know that God had a better plan in mind when He made the situation so!

take the wedding arch for example.

our initial idea was to have a wedding arch at the entryway, where those who entered, walked through it!
the arch was to be decorated with leaves and flowers, coolios effect.
and so, at 11am i went in search of the arch, aunty jean was coming at 1230pm, and the arch had to be found, pronto.

walked to the back of the sanctuary, and paused.
where in the world was the arch? it was big, white, and definitely conspicuous.
but it was definitely not there.
the arch, one of the deco mainpoints, gone?

ohhhdieeee.
i walked around the perimeter thrice, conversed in horrid chinese to the caretakers (aunty, you mei you kan dao na ge tie de dong xi?) to checking the super dark and scary backstage of the sanctuary. (eh hello! when i walked in, the first thing that greated me was a MIRROR. eeeyyerr) and checking with the pastors.
but nope! arch continued to elude us, till i finally found out that Vic Teo had loaned it out to an external organization for a play!

woohoo. talk about suayness.

but thank God for aunty jean, we managed to come up with plan B, and that was to decorate the aisle by lining bamboo poles, and stringing the flowers on it.
suffice to say, it turned out even prettier than the original idea. praise God!

heh. so yeah, the event was reaaaaallyy great!
there were many SLRs flashing around, blink* blink*
the band was super funny, when the lights went off, Jono immediately piqued, "Where's Prak?"
heh. to the amazing bullshitting from Aric while trying to stall for time, and the burst of lights from the sparklers, and Vic announcing "BASS SOLO!", everything was reallyy fun!

loved it when they switched off the lights, the pretty lanterns could then be fully appreciated, and oh.
who could forget Amanda going "eh! dont throw! (the lightsticks) pain! pain!" and Jono who blatantly threw this RING of lightsticks, and whacked Zhangyi's friend. OW.

hahaha, ohwells, and the night ended on a high, AND OHMYGOSH.

WHO COULD FORGET THE STUPID LIZARD THAT FELL ON ME???!!!!!!
AHHH. STUPID THING. DIEEEEEEE.
