lost in translation;

what comes to mind when you hear this phrase? for me, it used to be the movie. or quite goonly, i'll make weird jokes about how Chinese is kinda lost in translation to me.

but today's GP lesson kinda widen my scope about it, and i think it's a reallyreally cool theory- if that's what it's called.

essentially, it is how the true state of things is lost when passed through a medium. too abstract you say? well, to quote Ms Sab (gosh. i love quoting her.)

" If the cameraman has an adversion to dust, then all you'll see is the clean spots on news".

hahaha, so yeah. it's like how a camera lens can never fully capture the true nature of things. The lens, is only this big. It is impossible to capture the smell, the touch of things.

and this is how things, when passed through a medium, gets lost through translation.

i think these theories are so cool, makes alot of sense dont you think? and like, it kinda alters your perception of things i guess! you know, moving away from the shallow viewpoint of things. tsk, if only i could think in that way.

and then we stop to ponder who came up with the phrase, "a picture speaks a thousand words"

ohwells. i guess it's these little ironies that makes life more interesting!
