Today was like, THE best GP lesson. Ever.

Mrs Ng wasnt droning on and on about how to answer our AQ questions neither were we doing blah-presentations.
Instead, we had class discussion on Morality.

hahaha, yes. Face value it might seem really.. blahhh.
But trust me. It wasnt. :)

Just a brief description:
Moral Absolutist- one who thinks that morality is objective. In any moment of time/ whatever situation. DIE DIE MUST STICK TO YOUR MORALS.

Moral Relativist- Morality is subjective.

So yeah, we had to attempt this mini quiz and tick whether we thought certain issues were justifiable.
Justifiable meaning acceptable in some contexts.

So yeah, what I thought were justifiable were
1.Lying and deception
2.Capital Punishments
3.Euhthanasia
4.Abortion

That was how I ended up in the 80% absolutist 20% relativist group.

To cut to the chase, people in the moral relativist group actually thought that what.
Prostitution, Murder, Terrorism amongst others were justifiable.
huh. murder.

But yeah, one of the interesting parts when PrisSAM(: ended up in the moral absolutist group.
(HEY PRIS! I THOUGHT WHAT YOU SAID WAS UBER INTERESTING AND I ACTUALY RESPECT YOU AND SERENA FOR LANDING UP IN THE ABSOLUTIST GROUP!)

What she said?

That we believe in God, and as he is Sovereign, we should seek to obey him and hence.
Our stand on certain issues would then have to be non-justifiable.

hahaha. okayy, so I cant put it as eloquently as she did, but yeah. I think I got the gist. RIGHT?

So yeah, the thing that made me think (I thought!!!!) was that the issue of..

Like, how I think that Euthanasia (mercy killing) should be allowed, Pris says the opposite as we dont have the authority to decide who lives/dies.
HMM.

But... if your friend/relative/whoever were to be suffering SUPER BADLY, and wanted to die.
HOW?
Gosh. This is so conflicting.

So you people should all eat healthily and not end up in such a situation lest I have to encounter such a thing. I think I might bust my brains just thinking.

And yeah, we were also given certain scenarios where we had to decide which course of action to take..

The most morbid one.

You're a bus driver in a bus (naturally), and you have just lost control and it's hurtling down at a very high speed. You can either choose to crash into a house to stop the bus BUT it would invariably kill your SON.

Or you can just choose to crash the bus into something else, and kill the whole busload of... children.

HOW.

And that ends all intellectual talk, gotta do maths! (which will showcase my non-intellect in its full glory)..
but yeahh, thought today's GP was a blast.

And we're gonna do Death during the next lesson.
